To set their diagnosis, the consultants have 2 tools at their disposal: Forms and Compass.

Certain currents tend to impose the superiority of one of these 2 schools over the other. But a proper and thorough analysis need both.

What is the Forms School ? It studies the property’s plans, the outside appearances, the slope, the neighbourhood, the traffic, the colours, the vegetation, the presence of water (river, pool, fountain), even the sounds.

It will analyze the outside and the inside of the property according to the Animals: does your Turtle (your back) give you a good protection ? Do your Dragon and Tiger (your left and right sides) support you properly ? Is your Phoenix (what is in front) clear of obstacles so your future can take off easily ?

This study of the exterior is indispensable and capital, which is why no serious consultation can be conducted by telephone or email: the outside of a property has a major influence on the inside.

The Compass School uses calculations based on the readings taken with a Lo Pan. Besides being a precious tool, the Lo Pan is also a real work of art.

The compass itself is in the centre of the lacquered plate (the needle points to the South and not to the North) and it is encircled by a number of rings differing from one Master to another. Each ring bears a great number of information in Chinese, to a half degree.
